I use mine for on the trails in tight spots...and so I don't run over the neighborhood kids.

Sent from my thingy.

I don't get them either. I just look out my back window and mirrors and look behind my vehicle when it is in the garage or has been parked to make sure nothing is behind me.

Our minivan cane standard with it. It's nice really fr backing in parking or hooking up a trailer. I think it's a 50/50 deal. If I got one for free, id use it but I'm just as happy as looking over my shoulder or relying on a spotter.

Default get one

After getting one in my 09 Tahoe, I can't live without them! do you tow? hitch up trailers? back over small animals and or humans?

the rear visibility on the jeep is... not much... add a lift and some 35s and you could park a civic behind me and I wouldn't see it from the driver's seat. Camera = BOOM.

I did a camera + auto dimming rearview mirror combo for like $200 on eBay.

the autodimming mirror actually dims! the flippy kind don't seem to work right when you have the top down...

I have one in my JKU. I was already installing a Pioneer navigation / ipod / bluetooth unit, and figured I may as well add a camera while I was at it. I think the camera cost about 30 bucks, and only took a few extra minutes to install. (Mine is flush mounted into the bumper)

It's been in there for a few months now, and I'm just starting to get used to having it. I still look behind me, check mirrors, etc. - now glancing at the screen is just another step.

It's a "nice to have", but I could certainly live without it, and wouldn't have added it if I wasn't already doing the head unit swap. I could definitely see it coming in handy to hook up a trailer, but I don't tow anything with the Jeep.
