Default Touch-up/Refinish Rubi Rails - Recommendations?

I got a set of used 4dr rubi rails that have some scratches on them. They look like the didn't dig into the metal, but did take the finish down to bare metal.

I was thinking of just cleaning them up and using the rustoleum spray bed liner stuff on them.

Are there any specific products or any specific steps to prep/clean them that you would recommend?

Thanks.

I scuffed mine up and wiped with alcohol. Spray away. They look new again

try to remove as much surface rust as possible prior to painting. A wire cup brush should be sufficient

All good recommendations. The key is in prep. Scuff/sand the bad spots, lightly scuff the rest. Wipe down (alcohol is good), and spray according to the directions of whatever you're using.

A higher-cost option is to have them professionally done or powder-coated. But since you can often find used ones taken off of nearly new Rubicons online, if they get bad enough it may be cheaper to replace them. I bought a brand new set for my 2-door off some guy for $75.

Haven't tried the rustoleum, but I use the same type (duplicolor spray bedliner) on my rails and front bumper. And wheel wells. And hardtop. And... Like they said, just prep and spray whenever needed.
