Default Damn... Now the front

So now the front bracket snapped at the welds. I was driving to the 2013 Salt Lake Reggae Festival, and death wobble started at 5 mph. Well this time I'm towing it, can't even drive it now. Parked this bad boy and had my buddy cone grab it, he is going to fab a new bracket and get it back on the road tonight.

I have been seeing more welds break....

Make sure he sets the welder up for the thicker steel between the 2 for penetration....

Scott snapped his off on the trail .last weekend and I took 1 look it was am surface only weld looked good had no bite....we just welded a artec truss, track bar bracket and sway bar mounts on yesterday...

I Fab and cwi with ndt II in inspection of welds, metal and piping....radiography, it, mag particle, sheer wave, ed, dye pen, vis and see more junk that looks good....so I'm not just thinking of junk to say lol I'm seeing it ALOT more on the trail nowadays.....

Male sire the weld gets the ends as well its only as strong as its weakest link.....

Btw glad it happened in a slow situation could have been bad.....good luck and be safe....

From the pictures it looks like there is no penetration into the bracket and there is only one pass. I am a certified welder (pipe wording I am a union Pipefitter/Welder) and I always run 3 passes on all critical joints to insure that they will not break and have never had a weld crack or break on anything I have welded...take your time and do it right, make sure all material are cleaned before welding any rust or dirt even paint can and will contaminate the weld.

Is the steering wheel straight?

Set the wheels to straight ahead and snap a picture of the pitman arm so I can see how it is oriented.

It looks like it is oriented correctly. With the ESP light on you just do not have traction control operating. As much as I hate to say this it might be time to take a trip to the dealer so they can scan it and point you in the right direction.
