Default Chopped fenders

For a 2010 JKU Sahara, I'm looking to get the off road fender look but I can't decide if I should chop them myself or save up the cash to buy some Bushwackers. Like I said, it's a Sahara so I'm trying to keep the look kind of classy but still off road ish. What do yall recommend?

70 pages worth of fender trimming commentary and pics. If you find something you like, chop em. If not, buy...

Why not buy some used stock fenders and chop those so when you come to sell you can bolt on the original painted ones??

Project-JK fender flare trim write-up. Save your money for other mods. Flares are crazy expensive. The metal ones become part of the body so when you do hit something you can also get body damage as well. From this forum I've gotten new sets of flares and bumpers for free to play with instead of using my stock ones in case I screw up.

Better metal fenders that include body strengthening supports will help protect the body, I've seen plenty of flops and hits that would have caused body damage with plastic flares that did not with metal. I run MetalCloaks on my LJ and Poison Spyder on the JK. While saving up for the flares I did cut my JK flares, just do it, you can always buy bushwackers or similar if you don't like it. No body damage from this flop with metal fenders.

Just chop them. That's what I did for now. MHO, i would chop them and save for other mods. Ya fenders are cool, but I think bumpers, sliders, lift, winch are more important than fenders. I wheel about every weekend and and fender damage is rarely seen compared to other things.

Here's mine.

I agree with JKBANDIT55, chop them and save your money for something else. Not the best pics but here are a few of my Sahara with trimmed fenders.

Just chop them! It's a jeep not a Cadillac! It's meant to get dirty not prissy
