Is it me or does the placement of the vents in that last pic completely eliminate the structural integrity of the hood?

Does the base price include the painting?

 

Granted its cheaper than the AEV heat reduction hood but from a functionality, fitment, and quality standpoint how does it compare? I notice the vent in the AEV hood is far bigger and the side vents are near the intake as opposed to the cowl area, seems it would be more functional?
