Default Real life towing capacity

Hi guys I need to know the realistic numbers for a 2011 jku sport with 3.73 and 34.5 inch tires. I am looking at buying a Travel trailer and the jeep will be my tow rig. I know the factory says 3500 lbs. but this is a large purchase at around 25k. I am going with a Camplite 16 BHB. It is all aluminum and comes in at 2250 lbs. dry. I don't mint if I need to do some more mods to the jeep like gears and trans cooler. Any help is greatly appreciated.

As it is, you're probably fighting up long highway inclines (tire size vs 3.73 vs 3.8). Do you have an auto or manual? How much add'l weight do you think you're putting in?

Well there's my wife and two daughters. Maybe about 300 lbs. of gear and dogs. It is a auto.

You should be ok with the weight (def get sway bars) I'm just thinking that you're going have some long hard uphill pulls. That said, I'd do it. You'll probably have the trailer longer than your 2011. You'll eventually upgrade and gain some horses and torque.

I tow a 2500ish lb boat with my 2012 2 door with 35's and 3.21's, but it’s a stick. Definitely feel it back there, but it gets around. Sure it has to work a bit to maintain 70 up a big hill, but 55 isn't a problem. Auto and 3.73's won't make it fun, cuz it will downshift and rev high every hill, but you'll get by. My friend towed this same boat 650 miles down to me with his 2007 with 35's. 3.21's and stick. Trans cooler for you will be a must imo

Other than being gutless, you'll be fine towing that trailer. I pull my boat + gear, and fully loaded 6x12 enclosed uhaul trailers on 10+ hour trips between Colorado and Texas. Haven't put either on a scale, but the boat is around 3200lbs dry, so should be close to max when loaded up. Because of the aerodynamics, the boat is much easier to tow than the boxy uhaul trailers, but no issues with either.

4door, auto, 4" lift, 35's, 5.13's/5.38's, trans cooler, factory tow pkg.

If you get the trailer before you regear, OD/Off and keep the speeds down.

Your jk will pull a good bit with the stock tow package. Mine pulled my 22ft boat with out any major issues.

I'm pulling a 3,000 lbs (dry) travel trailer regularly with my '09 Rubicon. Then I'll add up to 4 passengers, a 60 lb dog, firewood, food, clothes, cooking equipment, etc., and I'm well over the 3,500 lbs I'm rated for. I slow down considerably on steep inclines, but otherwise it's no problem. My sig below has the mods I have installed. Some help, some hurt. I'll be regearing to 5.13 soon and that should help a lot when climbing.

I have 2010 37s 5.13 and supercharger.I pull a ski boat (pushes the load limit if not exceeds it when gassed up). I have trans cooler gears and big brake kit and a trailer brake. She's no pick up truck but I can comfortably pull the boat at 60-65 on the highway.
