I have an XRC bumper/tire rack that I want to add a homebrew trailrack to. The problem is that I need a good idea of how much more weight the tire rack hinge can take. I currently have a 37" KM2 on a KMC aluminum beadlock as well as 2 gerrycans mounted from the same rack. I tried the aftermarket trail rack that bolts to the back door/tailgate and watched the sheetmetal and door twist with the weight of a tent and 2 chairs and feel the time has come to build a better mousetrap. Anyone know how much more that hinge can take or has seen a trail rack added to the brand of bumper?
