Default Anyone have issues with new AEV Pintlers?

I bought a set of argent pintlers from a fellow jeeper, new in the box and ordered another from one of the vendors that is well regarded on this forum. I bought my new 285 duratracs from discount tire and had them mounted and balanced today at a local place I have entrusted with hundreds of tires over the years. When I went to pick them up they showed me how every one of the rims was thicker on one side than the other which caused them to have to use up to 8 oz of weight to get them to balance and they wouldn't guarantee that they would ride right.

They put them on the balancer to show me how lopsided the rim was...all of them...which was why they said they needed so much weight. I am going to try to upload the video I took which clearly shows the thickness issue.

I have contacted AEV and they said they had not heard of this issue before so I sent them the video also to get their take. I love the look...not so impressed with the QC so far but we will see how they handle this issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sJY7XQRqHI&feature=youtu.be anyone else had this kind of issue?

I bought a set of AEV Pintlers that had KM2's mounted on them. I noticed that there was a lot of lead on all of the wheels. I just assumed that the tires were the reason.

Concerning as this is the second time recently that I have seen someone with this issue. In the other case, I believe only 1 out of the 4 had this issue and it was sent back for replacement. I was getting ready to order a set but may hold off for now.

I just called late this afternoon so in all fairness AEV hasnt had a reasonable time to respond yet. I will definately keep everyone updated on this issue.

Holy shit! That's not good! The wheel should be perfect. The tire is what should have to be balanced. NOT THE WHEEL!

Sent from the fast lane while driving one handed.

just checked out my friends this morning, and he had the same problems you described, a lot of lead on the rims. I have the other AEV rims and don't have much weight at all.
