Default Pro Comp Wheels - Powdercoated vs Cast

I was considering the black Pro Comp wheels. Specifically, the wheels that were either black powder coated or cast black wheels. What's the difference in the finish? Which type of fiinish is the best? Thanks.

8023, 8089, 8179 - black powder coated
7189, 7089, 7023 - cast black

I think the black powder coated are gloss black and the cast black are flat black.

I would think they would hold up about the same. I just bought a set of the cast black ( 7189's ) but don't have them mounted yet. I liked the flat black look.

Quite literally, black cast looks like the aluminum is black where as powder coating looks like a finish sitting on top of the surface of the metal. I personally like the powder coat finish better as scratches can be easily fixed with some touch up paint and it doesn't look funny.

The cast black is a coating too, its just flat black instead of gloss. I think the flat black wheels will be easy to fix as well. I have not had to do any repairs yet but I can tell you the finish easy to clean.
