Default Does this price seem right for lift, tires, etc....

I have a stock 2010 4dr Sahara and am looking at getting a lift kit, tires, and wheels. Went to a local shop (that was recommended by my boss and a couple of other people) to get a price.
Total price was $5800 and here is breakdown:
- 2.5" rock krawler flex lift
- Bilstein 5100 shocks
- 5 Fuel Revolver 17x9 wheels
- 5 Goodyear Duratrac 315/70r17 tires
- Superchips Flaspaq
- Alignment

Does that price seem about right? Doing some research and comparing their price breakdown for everything that they gave me it does. Just wanted to get some opinions before I drop $5800 (anyone know a good way to hide spending $5800 from the wife?). Also included is a re-torque. The shop from what I know of and have heard is a reputable shop and everyone I talk to says they do an awesome job.

I don't get to go off roading as much as l would like (but hey who does ) so I don't need anything too extreme. My main concerns are road handling, getting the jeep in my garage to be able to the hard top off, and of course appearance. I'm a little hesitant on the 35's and have about drove myself crazy looking on the internet at photos and Jeeps around town to try and decide on 33's or 35's.

what is the cost of the parts if you were to buy them yourself? the labor for installation of a lift kit plus an alignment should probably be in the $600-$700 range. there's also some advantage to having the shop buy all the parts rather than you bringing them in yourself, as if something isn't right it will be their problem not yours. if the cost of all parts is $4,900 or more, then i'd say this is a good deal.

and to answer your question about 33's vs. 35's, i prefer the look of a 35, especially on a 4 door. you should still be able to fit in the garage with 35's and a 2.5 inch lift (but measure first to be safe...) i have a roll up garage and fit fine, but with our old tilt up garage it might not have fit.

I did not add up the total if I bought all the parts myself, just really compared individual component prices and they all seemed inline with what I found online at different places. Total parts cost including tax from the shop was $4947.18. There were also a few other odds and ends that I didn't list like the bump stops, spare tire spacer mount, etc...

Do you have any pics of your jeep since it's has the same size lift, tires, and wheels?

Have you considered re-gearing for the bigger tires? It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have gussets installed. A new carrier for the 35" spare?

For pics, go down a few sub-forums to JK Show & Tell. At the top you will find the show off threads, which are broken down into various categories.

Also, if you want to save some money, you could compare prices for 16" rims/tires. Or even look into 15's. You might also post in the staging area for your neck of the woods and see if there are any locals that would help you do the install. A case or two of beer can go a long way toward getting more hands-on with your jeep.

Yea re-gearing will have to come after the lift and tires, only so much in the budget right now. Also included was a spacer for the spare tire mount. Yea I would love to be able to do it myself, especially after seeing the labor cost, but can't justify the time right now. Kids fall sports are about to start up, college football season just around the corner, and oh yea work.

I'm more on the electrical side. Have the system sitting in my shop to be installed.

Thanks! I think that unfortunately that sells me on the 35's. Unfortunately because they cost more. I was worried about the 35 filling up the wheel well too much. The look on yours is what I am going after.

You better sign him up for basketball. I think my son and daughter love my jeep more than me. All I have heard this summer is "can we take the jeep and put the top down?" Have yet to take the doors off which my son is dying for me to do.

Oh what is your total ride height? Last question I promise.

not sure of the ride height. i'll take measurements tonight and report back.

regarding the spare wheel spacer, you might not need or want one. i recently upgraded to a aftermarket bumper with integrated tire carrier, but before that i had the stock carrier with 4.75" backspaced wheels. the 315 tire was less than 1" further away from the tailgate than the stock tire (it was just about 1/2 inch shy of resting on the two rubber bumper/stopper thingies), and the tire was resting nicely on the stock bumper, which probably helped support the added weight of the larger wheel/tire combo. if you add a spacer, it will sit really far from the tailgate and there will be added leverage and therefore a greater chance that your tailgate gets tweaked.

the highest point is about 6'1" high. i have the top off, so i am not sure if the hardtop adds any height. there is about 6.5" between the tire and fender.
