Plasti-dip question
I am thinking of spraying a protective area on the front of the small rear fenders.
My question is do I need to buy the primer or is the black Plasti-dip fine to use without it?

Just clean the fenders real good with rubbing alcohol, spray a real light coat and wait a few mins for it to dry. Then spray on a few heavier coats allowing some dry time between each coats. If u get over spray on the body, it will just rub off with ur hands but wait until the fender is dry otherwise the little paint pieces will stick to the fender

You can shoot plastidip onto your paint the way it is. If you spray primer then the primer will be there if/ when you remove the plastidip.
Spray it as it is, no primer needed.

That's what the plastidip videos show, but I tried to do a mountain style hood blackout decal on my 03 rubi and it didn't come out so well on the edges where I pulled up the tape. It's tough to spray it and get a clean line without getting overspray after you remove the tape.
It ended up making a mess of the hood and I peeled it all off.
