Default Durtracs 315s on auto 2010 JK 4d

I have a 2010 JKU auto. The teraflex 2.5 inch coil lift with shocks is on its way. Now, I am keeping my stock rims. I'm torn between 285 70R 17 or 315 70R 17. God I like the 315! Anyone running something like this with the 315s? Did you have to regear? I know you have to for true 35s but these are like 33.5-34. Thanks.

I am running a 2.5 coil lift and Duratrac 315/70 17. I did regear from 3.21 to 4.56.

First off I ran factory 3.73s with 37s....That was on a 2010 JKU Sahara. Now I have a 2010 JKUR 4" Skyjacker coil lift and 315/70R17 Goodyear Duratracs with factory 4.10s.... I'm going to 37s soon and don't plan on re-gearing..... At least not right away. Ur rig looks good! Enjoy ur mods!

My opinion, I would go with 315s and if feel underpowered then regear to 4.56

I just think 315s look a lot better on an unlimited than 285s

My two cents.....

I agree. And I rather pay an extra couple hundred and be happy

You are getting gearing advice from people with the 3.6 engine. Disregard it. There are plenty of threads to look through about gearing a 3.8 auto on 35's. You will be choosing between 4.88/5.13/5.38, depending on your location and usage. Or spend a few minutes plugging numbers into the chart in the faq's. (to get OD/Off numbers, divide the OD On rpm you get by .69)

I was running short 35's (33.5 actual) and 5.13. After replacing the front d30 with a d44, I went on up to 5.38, which is the better ratio for me. What is right for you will depend ...

Get the 35's, turn your OD Off, and drive it for a while before deciding if you are going to regear. Then you can decide what ratio.
