So I drive an Unlimited that only came with a hard top so I do not have any door surrounds. I purchsed the Bestop Bikini a while ago which is great. My one big complaint about it is the fact that it "moves" so much and has a terrible fit (bows up real big when the wind gets under it). I can tell that this is mainly from the fact that it is only strapped down to the roll bars and not around the door surrounds.

I am looking to purchase some door surrounds but want to make sure I am getting the right product. Will any surrounds work? I might buy some stock surrounds off of craigslist from a '10 (I drive an '08). How about the Bestop or Smittybilt surrounds? Anyone have experience running this top with these? Thanks for the help!

 

Does this top have the necessary plastic strips and such to actually attach to the door surrounds? Mopar makes two different safari tops, depending on whether you have the door surrounds or not. One uses only Velcro strips to attach around the roll bar. The other has all of the same plastic strips as a full-blow softtop to attach to the door surrounds. BTW: Have not kept up with the Bestop or Mopar stuff that much, but a few years ago the Mopar safari top ("Sunbonnet"--terrible name, LOL) was WAY better than the Bestop.

 

The stock 2010 ones will work fine. If not I would get the Bestop ones.

 

Thanks for the input guys. I took a picture of the front driver side bottom of the bikini. It has a plastic rod sort of lining the edge of it. Is that what will attach into the surrounds?
