Default Little Help With Wheel Selection

Im planning on getting the Black Rock 942D in 16x8 with a 285/75/16 tire on a 2 door with 2.5 RK MT lift. I am trying to decide what BS I need. The wheels come in 4.25 and 5. I know both will fit, but I would like to confirm if anyone knows if the 5" BS will rub with this set up and in any situation. Thanks!

I'd go 4.25

IMO go with the 5 (I think stock is 6" or is it?). I believe I have the 5" on my 17x9 and with the 285/75/17 I am just sticking out of the wheel well a bit. In PA that can fail inspection, on the plus side I am no where near rubbing anywhere (3" BDS spring and 3/4" spacer kit). If you ever want to go to 35x12.5x16 you will stick out from the stock flares (if that's a problem where you live).

We've got 285/75/17s on Our 2dr with about 2.25 inches of lift and still using the stockers with 6" BS and no rubbing after lowering the sway bar end links. 5" of BS is plenty!

Define 'any situation'...
Stock flares, no lift, disconnected with no bumpstop, perhaps?

For that tire size, you'll be fine with the 5.00's. But between the two, the 4.25's get my vote for the better future upgrade potential.

I agree 4.25 or 4.50 best way to go, and will leave you with better options in the future if you ever want to go bigger.

By 'any situation' I was meaning turning full lock, full flexing, etc..

So if I do not intend to go any bigger on tires then 5" should be my choice Im gathering.

Thanks!
