Question 16" or 17" wheels for 33" tires

Looking to upgrade the stock SRA's on my '14 JK. I intend to lift it in the spring (2.5"), but looking to add wheels and tires this fall.

It's my DD, so I need to keep things simple. I'm more interested in 33's over 35's for economy. Plus I only have a 3.21 axel.

Looking at maybe Duratracs on either 16" or 17" wheels.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? But please, no death threats.

I'd say 17s. Seem to be more tire options in 17 inch tires.

I have 2.5 lift with 33s. Still wrestling with the idea of putting 35s on it.

I currently have Fierce Attitude MTs in 285 70 17.
I really like them both on and off road. Other good options are the Duratrac and Kelly Safari TSR.

I agree with 17's...more options. I ran 33's (Cooper Discoverer STT) on 17's with no lift for white a while and it was fine. Now I have a 2.5" and it's nice to have though

One day I'll go to 35's but I drive it way too much right now to have it impact my fuel economy that much

I like how 16's look with 33's better. 35" then 17 are good too. I have a 2013 jku with 3.21 and 33's and have no issues wheeling with guys that have 4.10's. I would not however want to go bigger without higher gearing.

16s for 33 or 35s in my opinion. I like the bigger sidewall on the tire.

My vote goes to 16". Maybe not all the fancy metric Sizes that 17" offers, but who cares. Can get 33's, 35's 37's ect

17's. I don't like when it looks like the tire is swallowing the rim. Just my preference though.
