Default New Tires

I am about to lift my jeep and I want to get the best bang for my buck on tires. I am looking at the trail grapplers, KM2, and the MTRK. I am about a 90/10 on road and I don't care about noise but I want one that wears well on the road and is still decent in the mud.

Love my km2. I have 40,000 on them. I may be able to squeeze another 5k. Seems like they last pretty long. I'm mostly highway.

I just ordered a new set of KM2's...my father runs them and loves them. great on and off road.

TIP: If you are ordering online call and see if they will cut you a deal because your'e a member of the forum. 4wd offered me a $112 discount because they sponsor the JK-forum.

When I bought my JKU, I test drove a rig on 35" MTRK, and the one I bought has KM2. I preferred the MTRK slightly, but am also very happy w/my KM2s. They are pretty smooth and fairly quiet, and just look badass! I used to drive an XJ with the 1st gen MTRs, and now realize how much better the KM2s ride!

I've been running my 37x12.50-17 Trail Grapplers for just under 30K miles and have no doubt that I'll get at least another 15k out of them. It was a daily driver for about 18 months on them and I have absolutely no complaints. Not to mention they run really close to accurate on size, whereas the KM2s run quite a bit smaller than what they claim to be. TG's wear great, they're really quiet on the road, they balance easily, and they ride really nice for an M/T. My next set will be TG's, too.

Edit.....Oh, and they perform pretty well off-road, too. In mud, they clean out well, so you always seem to have good traction.

You don't say what size.

Best bang for the buck? Treadwright Guard Dog.

Best all-around for 90/10? IMHO, Duratrac without breaking the bank.

I love the look of the trail grapplers but I have the terra grapplers now and they are almost bald and im at 23000 miles. So the nitto brand kinda scares me.

In all my experience with tires, most of it on-road, Goodyear has about the softest rubber compound out there, which in turn translates into really fast wear.

You can look at Toyo, too. Same as Nitto, made in the same factory, etc. Both wear really well, though. You won't be disappointed.
