Default My Favourite Phone/Mobile Device Mounting Solution!

Hey Jeepers - I have been looking forever as to what the best phone/ipod/mobile device mounting solution would be in my '13 JK and I think I have finally found a unique combo which works awesome. Here is a brief write up:

What you'll need:
1) Daystar Upper Dash Panel w/ Universal Ball Mount - Can buy at most sponsors sites (Quadratec, 4wd etc.)
2) iMagnet Cradle-less Magnetic Phone Mount - there are a few companies that make similar products. This is the one I chose after seeing lots of good ratings on Amazon.

Install is super easy - basically just unscrew the magnet mount from it's existing mount, and transfer it to the Daystar - it's a perfect fit. Install one of the 3M adhesive backed metal pieces to your mobile device (it comes with various sizes/shapes - I chose to put the largest one on for strength), put your case back over it and you're done - See pics below.

I have tested this offroad and it stays there, no problems. The best part about this is how quickly you can put your device up/down and also changing orientations of your device on the fly. As well, my particular case is one of the thickest you can buy - I'm sure most cases would have even a stronger hold than mine. Hope this write-up helps some people get a nice clean, strong and versatile mount in their Jeeps!

Cool - especially if it stays on through the bumpy bits.

Yeah, I basically just took the magnet off and put it on the daystar upper dash panel. Looks awesome and is super functional for GPS etc. - it was $35 in total.

Great idea!
My buddy has his windows-based tablet on his (about the size of the iPad mini).
Like you say, it's super easy to use since it uses a magnet. I thought it would mess with my gps, but it doesn't! Shoot, it's so easy, a caveman could do it!
