Default Best winch under $400

Hey guys, I'm looking to order a winch, and have been researching online. Trying to spend between $350-$400 shipped. Have it narrowed down to these:

Rugged Ridge 15100.1 10,500 cable $355 (- $20 OMIX ADA rebate)

Engo E9000S 9,000 synthetic $399

Engo E10000 10,000 cable $345

Smittybilt XRC10 10,000 cable $399

Quadratec Q9500i 9,500 cable $359

Any other suggestions, & experience is welcomed! Most of these winches have a 5.5HP. The Rugged Ridge is 6.6, the Quadra is 4.8. Not sure how much of a difference that really makes?

I used to have an Engo E9000s. It was loud, and I hated the 3 prong connector, but it did the job, and I reaally like the synthetic.

I went with the Q9500i on my 2013 JKU and absolutely love it. It is quiet and runs smoothly. I plan on purchasing the same for my 2014 JK.

I would check ebay for a while if you don't need one right away. Carpartswholesale on ebay had the the 10.5k Rugged Ridge with synthetic for $359 shipped.
The JCwhitney ebay store had them for the same price (I think it is the same company with different names). They don't always have them listed. I bought one, then they went out of stock. About a week later they had two more, which are now sold. It is hit and miss.

Maybe you could email them and find out if they will get some more at that price.

Thanks, I saw that.. that was a SMOKING deal.. I actually called them (both), and they said those were rare winches that had been in the warehouse for a few months? I do check it almost daily, but I doubt I will see those again..

$400 is my absolute limit. Otherwise, $459 is not much more than $429, and $499 is not much more than $459 lol..

$426 shipped for 10k with synthetic

http://www.krawloff-road.com/product...-77-10000s.htm

For $409 shipped they have a 9k synthetic, but for a little more why not get the 10k.

Edit, just saw this was posted haha. Anyway, great deal, do not let the extra $26 steer you away! Great customer service from ENGO as well.

What kind of plug does the Q9500i have? Is it the 3 prong, or is it more like a switch? I am really interested in this winch.

So far it's between that, and the Rugged Ridge. My friend has the 8500, and we both had to winch ourselves up a rock in July. His winch was smooth, quiet and easy to plug in. Mine.. I was hoping it didn't start smoking.. according to the sound at least haha. Bang for the $ on sythetic, the Engo is hard to beat though.. And I know they kicked ass in the shootout. That's why I bought the first one.

Bump..

Anyone know how does the Q9500i have such good line speed and power out of a smaller 4.8HP motor? The draw at 8000# is also only 300A vs rugged ridge 380 (6.6HP). Gearing is also a bit higher.. 212 vs 218. Doesn't make sense to me.

The Q9500i plug is a 4 pin plug. The remote is the typical in/ out switch.
