Default Solved: Hothead on JKU/13

Solved:

Just finished installing Hothead hardtop insulation on my JKU/2013, everything is alright besides rear panel was very stubborn. Question to the owners who already installed these parts on latest JKU.
Is it normal that rear panel doesn't fit as well as front and middle one? It doesn't seem made to seat inside of these curves well. Maybe I got wrong rear panel?

Yee, actually reinstall all panels with velcro this morning. Lots of extra work and $32 for prograde velcro pack at Home Depot. Now I am confident it will stay in place as long as I am owner of this Jeep Honestly you should include velcro instead of 3m, it doesn't stick well even after sand papering and acetone been used.

You do know that they have the Velcro version, right? Cost a little more but well worth it.

I wish you would have called me before you went to Home Depot to buy Velcro that will not stay. All Home Depot sells is Velcro with a rubber based adhesive that will melt and fall of when it gets hot. You need an acrylic based adhesive which has a much higher heat rating.
Also, the 3M does work. We had done extensive testing and have thousands of headliner kits installed with it. If you or anyone else has an issue all they have to do is call me and we will fix that issue - For Free.

best regards,

Mark

I also have the Hothead liners. However, I didn't have any problems with my install. I sanded and used acetone as directed. Not saying you didn't follow directions, just that I didn't have any issues.

We just passed couple of days with 85-90F outside in NJ, nothing happened and Jeep is parked all day outside.

For some reason only one panel out of 4 was OK, other fall next 2-3 days after installing on 3M. Not that I was doing off-roading that time as well
