Default sound deadening

hey guys been a while, took some time off the jeep after i got the sound system setup nicely, ive now got a bit of cash to burn again and deciding where to put it. talked briefly with some of you guys on here a while back about sound deadening, heard there had been some decent results covering the floor with dynamat, also recall truck bed liner being used by some..

would just like to collect up some info / advice from anyone who's taken these kinds of steps. running a 2012 with hardtop, headliners and road tyres, stock exhaust. hope to reduce road / wind noise and maybe get the system sounding even better. budget 1 - 2k depending what can be done

II you are looking at Dynamat look at Hushmat too. Both are easy to use and make a difference, but add to the weight of your Jeep.

I really think you can remove the headliners and do the hard top too - then reinstall the headliner panels. Should make a BIG difference

I have a 2012 Sahara. I put dynamat over the entire floor after owning it for less than a week. I feel like it is fairly quiet inside. I put boom mat on the hardtop roof. Someday I would like to take the door panels off and apply dynamat to the doors. I don't regret doing it...I just don't have a good answer for you in terms of before and after since I did it 6 days after purchase...and that was 18 months ago. I think it maybe cost $250-$300. Don't remember.

yeah will definitely be doing between headliners / hard top even if I don't fully go ahead with the rest of the car

got an idea of how long it took you to do the floor? and was it a pretty straightforward job?

I did it with B-Quiet and Hothead Headliners.
Its much quieter and blocks out the heat. I also have Solar Guard tint everywhere including clear on the front windshield.
