Default Snorkel - forward facing or rear facing?

I've got a RR installed on my 2012 JKU and I'm wondering what people think.
Forward facing or rear facing and why.

I have mine facing forward, Its my understanding that it was make to face forward / without letting rain water in. Had mine a for a few weeks, had some rain, I checked a few times and found no water at all.

I got my aev snorkel facing forward. I knew someone who works for aev and i asked him about this. He said they are ment to be faced forward. There are water channels to drain water out the back

Ive seen guys that race full throttle into water turn their snorkels to face rear.

For the rest of us, the AEV snorkel allows rain to weep out on top, as Jersey_Devil says, and the hoses between the snorkel and the air box are designed to have the engine heat burn off any additional water (within reason) that gets into piping.

Once more: Forward
Never had it mounted backwards, but had the pre-filters on my snorkel.
What I've experienced when using the ram head is that my JK doesn't need to shift down on the freeway that much.

turn it backwards if you are driving in heavy snow otherwise run it forward.

I've had the AEV snorkel now for 3 years

Always facing forward and have never found water in the box. One time I had to turn it around. It was snow so hard I had to stop ever 10 minutes to clean the lights so I could still see. Snorkel wasn't completely blocking up but it was starting too so I just turned it around.
