Default Rough Country Suspension

Does anyone know anything about rough country suspension lifts? I'm looking at a 4" lift for my wrangler unlimited. The price is $500. Just wondering if it's a good brand or if it will fail or not reliable.

Not a bad starter lift, do you plan on wheeling hard? I guess it will really depend on how you use it.

I plan on doing a lot of mud holes but that's pretty much it!

I would say you would be fine, I run RockKrawler but that might be over kill for ya. I'm sure you'll get some more response, and just search a little more you'll find what your looking for.

Are you sure you need 4"? That's quite a bit, the $500 for the lift is basic, you'll need more than just springs.

As stated above not a bad starter kit but I would have to add. Please do some more research. 4" is alot of lift for only $500.00. The first question I would ask is what size tire do you want to run? If you are only planning on a 35" tire you could do that with a 2.5" kit and not have any issues with steering or drivetrain geometry.
The kit you mention addresses steering geometry with a drop pitman arm but if you do some reading most people don't recommend them because the JK steering box is relatively weak enough with out giving the steering linkage more leverage on it.
Just something to think about. Generally 3" and under and can be accomplished easily on a Jk and with an easy budget. Anything above 3.5-4" and above usually brings in alot more changes and corrections to maintain a comfortable and safe ride.

Good luck with your choosing and do plenty of reading. Your suspension is one area I personally would say get the best quality you can. Or you could end up doing the same mod twice down the road when it starts to deteriorate in ride quality and performance.

I have no experience with their jeep lifts but exactly a year ago i installed a 2/3" rough country lift on my dad's Toyota Tacoma TRD. The lift is very solid. No squeaks, rattles, shimmies or shakes.Click image for larger version

But both me as the installer and my dad as the driver are both very happy with the quality of the lift. Again sorry i don't have experience with the jeep lift but i feel if this lift is good the rest should be too

Thanks for the info. I'm still looking around trying to get a feel for things! I want to end up running 40's of rubber and I know I'm gonna have to upgrade a lot of things to make it a nice ride!
