Default Next Mod Bumpers or Half Door?

In my mod planning can't just decide between new bumpers and tire carrier or Rugged Ridge half doors with upper windows.

I think I'd get more "use" out of the doors as I really like the open air and could do more often to and from work.

Anyone have these doors and uppers? Good bad? Worth it? My DD commute to work is all highway 120km round trip

Bumpers are functional and look bad a$$.

Can't do both due to budget.

Thanks for any advice

What size tires are you running? If 35+, I'd say go for the bumper/tire carrier. You can always make a stubby out of the front if you haven't already to change the look. If less than 35s, half doors. I love my OEM half doors.

I'm going to do the half doors in the spring so I can have them for topless season. The added weight of the bumpers may help keeping you steady in the snow.

Just did new 33's this spring and will stick with them until it's time for new in a few years hello 35s then.

Good point on the stubby cut OEM bumper.

Since you're only running 33s I'd look into the teraflex hinge and keep the stock bumper for now. Its cheaper than a tire carrier/bumper combo and would give you more cash for other mods down the road.

I agree with this guy. I bought a teraflex hinge and bestop half doors with uppers. I'll tell ya- the doors are probably one of the coolest things I've bought so far. Ive been hit with a few showers and in seconds I had doors and windows back on.. Never would have been possible with full doors.

Yes this is what I was thinking! And the reason I can't go doorless to work as much as I'd like.

How do you like the Best Top product for figment? I'm looking at them too, and they are cheaper then the RR. Any issues on the highway with wind or heavy rain?

Thanks

If u spend time reading reviews on soft doors, more times than none - all what you read is true. Almost everyone will tell u-
They don't fit well
They require some minor bending
They are expensive
They aren't 100% water tight
But
They are so convenient and if I had to do it all over, I would buy them again.
They are light, and even on a four door, ALL 4 doors and windows fit in the back.

I bought them cause I love being doorless but I have a toddler and as the day comes to an end, temps drop. Its so effortless to toss the doors on when the sun sets and even though they do not block out road noise, they do well in eliminating wind in my sons face and he does stay warm on the drive back home.

Oh- failed to give details about the rain.. I have been caught in several rain storms including highway driving.. Only once did rain make its way in and it was a massive storm that isn't what we r use to here. It was 60mph gust and about 4inches of rain in a matter of 1hr. And only that once did my seats get slightly wet.. It mostly just ran along the weather stripping and soaked the carpet. But being doorless would have been multiple times worse.
