Default Chains / SnoClaw On 2013 JKU Sport S with Mods

So I have a 2013 JKU sport S, with a 2.5 inch OME lift, running Rubicon Rims / Tires in 255/75/r17. I want to be able to use chains or snoclaws for my upcoming hunting trip in Colorado. My current setup doesn't have any clearance at the rear axle - brake lines are close to the tire, along with suspension components. I'm thinking about adding some 1.5 inch or 1.75 inch wheel spacers to get a little room between the tires and everything that could be negatively impacted by a tire chain. Anyone have feedback for this? I might not need the chains if the weather cooperates, but when it doesn't the places I like to hunt have a bad combo of snow, mud, and tough trails. Having chains as an option will be worthwhile, but I'll be running the stock Rubicon mud terrain tires.

I had chains on the stock Rubicon tires a few years ago before I upgraded. A 1.5" spacer was good enough for me with a 3.5" Sky**cker lift. Also consider getting the tires siped. They are 100x better afterwards.

Short answer is yes. 1.5" wheel spacers help. I had the 2.5" OME lift with HD springs.

Watch your brake lines!
Snow chains can tear them up quickly if the brake lines are close to your tire side wall.

For ice I run chains up front so I can steer going uphill.

I wound up installing Synergy 1.75 inch spacers today. Looks like I have decent clearance now, and only a little bit of my rubicon rims and tires are sticking out. Spacers are decent, and only cost $160 for four.
