Default Finding good jerry jugs/fuel containers

Hello

I'm adding the new Ace tire carrier accessory so I can mount a spare fuel can

So I'm trying to find a decent new jerry jug/can

The dimensions for the carrier are 7" x 13 3/4"

Either plastic or steel, really want it in red and must include pouring spout

Matthew

I have the rotopax:

Rotopax 2-Gallon Gasoline

Have used them several times while out and about. What I like about them is that you are not lifting 5 gallons of gas at one time like with a Jerry can. They do have a spout, but they are those new "safety" spouts which often times jam and fail while out on the trail so we have a trusty funnel in the Jeep for refueling ops.

The link is to a two gallon version, they do have a three gallon version as well.

If you want Jerry cans I would suggest checking out a military re-sale store. They are becoming hard to find.

Default Jerry Cans

I have seen new, red Jerry Cans at 4WheelDrive Parts and I'm sure you can find them on-line. I bought a used military version for $5 several years back. After looking closely at the inside, I have decided not to use it as I'm unsure what the previous owner used it for. I guess the saying goes, you get what yo pay for.

Anyway, I agree that the Roto-Pax's are a good idea and have used them with great success on my ATV. I like the slim feel, light weight and the fact that they can mounted in multiple locations.

Good luck!

If you want metal NATO cans these are the real deal and priced well... NATO 20 Liter Jerry Can - SET OF FOUR

If you want plastic jugs get the Scepter. They come up for sale on the forums from time to time, You could also get them on eBay.... Scepter Fuel Can | eBay

I have 4 of the old NATO jerry cans (bought new) and they are great. It's a shame our moronic govt has banned them but the link provided in the post above is where I'd go to get some, of course only to put water in,,,

I don't know why but old jerry cans in good condition are a high stolen item here in Alaska. I found a guy that had a bunch of them on CL for $25 a piece. I got four and a spout for $100. I don't keep them on the Jeep, only when I know I'm hitting a trail and even then I use a good braided cable and lock.
