Dynatrack ProRock 44 housing....what else do I need?
Broke one of the tubes on the stock D30 axle. Found a ProRock 44 housing for sale locally, brand new for $1600. Seems like a good price for one that's never been out of the shipping crate. Question is, what all do I need to buy to go inside of it? It already has new ball joints, and I'm sure the wheel bearings, steering knuckles and brake stuff can be reused. But what's all inside there that I need to buy? Read something about needing outer AND inner axle shafts, and they need to be custom made. Also, what all is involved with the diff? Can it all be bought together, or do I need to buy separate parts or kits? Probably pretty basic stuff to most of you guys, but I'm new at this. Been driving turbo 4 cylinders for a long time.
Depends on which version it is.
If it is a rubicon replacement, all of the stock rubi internals will fit. Your locker choices are the factory elocker, 35sp arb, or 30 sp ox.
If it is the standard, you have a much better selection of lockers.
Both will use the same gears. The inner shaft lengths will be different, so verify which you have before buying. You can re-use your stock 32sp outer shafts for either, but if you are buying alloy inners, may as well buy a complete set. And from the outer shafts outwards, you can re-use what you have.
There is a very complete FAQ and info section for the pr44 on dynatracs website, wouldn't hurt to spend a few minutes reading through it.

The guy selling it says it's plumbed for an ARB locker. Maybe I can get him to give me an exact model number so I know better what I'm dealing with. Need to make sure I can use a non-locking differential, because my stock axle didn't have a locker, my rear doesn't have one and I don't have the money to buy them right now.
Either can use an arb. 35sp with 35sp shafts in the rubicon version, or 30sp in the standard version. (not sure if the standard version can take the 35sp arb, but I would assume that it can, just with different length shafts than the rubi version?)
I also haven't seen posts from anyone that went with an open carrier in a PR. Instead of paying labor twice, you might consider waiting on the internals until you can afford a locker (or truetrac) for it as well. Just bolt the ends and tires on and leave it empty.

I would check the packing and see if Dynatrac didn't label it well with a code that explains what it's ready for, or a number that you can call them with to get more info
Anyone here have any experience with the Northridge fully built up pro rock 44 with the ARB and RCV axles included?
