This is a hand crafted prototype design so if it works as I believe it will and you are interested in having one for yourself, I will try to come up with a fair yet reasonable cost for purchase.

That's kind of what I was thinking too, that a simply bottom mounted unit would not hold up, but was sure hoping to see some photos even to see where it was going to be mounted. So how will it work to tie into the stock bumper as well as the hinge? Will you still be able to open the tailgate?

I think it's a bit early to ask if people want one, when we haven't been able to see what you are cooking up! Come on, humour us with a pic, even just one that shows where you were planning on putting it with the first bracket.

Yes the tailgate will still open. It will be lmited to about 95% open before the can makes contact with the tail lights. I will be putting flush mout tail lights on my Jeeper which will resolve that issue. The mount is designed to sit 'in" each hinge where the hinges are bolted into the tail gate. The stock bolts will be replaced with grade 8 bolts. Here is a pic of the somewhat finished look without the piece being added today. The tire on there now is a stock 255 70/R18. This set up will not allow for a larger diameter. My whole goal is to keep my Jeeper looking as stock as possible. I only mentioned the "resale" based on a below inquiry. This may not even work although at this point my math only indicates that it will hold and hold well.

Awesome. I hope it works out for you. I've looked for similiar ideas - not really sold on the Rotopak type.
