So you're wanting to remove the sliding tracks and bolt the seat frame directly to the floor brackets, right ?

If you don't need to adjust it back and forth, I don't see any problem. I don't think you will gain that much more headroom though.

Drilling the metal floor frame won't be that hard.

I did it when I altered mine to move the seat back an inch and a half on the floor brackets. (more leg room)

I just did this and it made all the difference. It just feels better. The sliders measure exactly 1 inch.

Im tall also and have the big boy brackets so the holes were already there far back enough. Used #8 bolts that I had from when I took my entire subaru Sti apart after a accident a few years back.

I can take pics if anyone needs them. It feels a little easier to get into also. One guy qouted me like $300 to do this. Nuts.

An extra inch would be nice ("that's what she said" joke goes here)

I have to swap Jeep's occasionally with my wife so I won't be removing the sliding tracks, but it is good to know.

It's funny, after I did my modification to the existing floor mount, I ran across the Big Boy brackets on the internet. Might of saved me some trouble. but I like making stuff anyway.
