Putting a Rough Country 2.5" budget boost on with an older but new 4" Superlift kit I had from my 07 JKU. Did not want to go high as my 4 door but I have heard that the anniversary Rubi's coils were taller and people who got a 2.5 inch coil lift only netted about an inch and a half from stock. I do want at least 2.5" so I went with the Rough Country budget boost with steel spacers, shock extensions and rear links. Superlift basically sent me two complete kits when I got it 6 years ago so I figured to at least use the adjustable front track bar, upper bump stops front and rear that are 2" longer than stock and maybe the rear links as they have a ball joint where as the RC links that came with the budget boost kit do not. My questions is will I be OK using the rear links with the ball joints from Superlift even though they are for a 4" lift and are longer than the RC links. Or just use the shorter RC links without the ball joints? Another question is wifey is getting me the AEV front control arm geometry correcton brackets for Christmas and she said I had to wait to actually Christmas till I open them. So will I be OK as far as the front driveshaft is concerned until then or just wait and put it all on at once? And if I do put the lift on now without the AEV brackets will I have to remeasure and adjust the front track bar after the brackets have been put on? Only going with a 34 inch tire so should I use the bottom 2" metal bump stops that come with the old Superlift kit or am I thinking correctly on just using the rubber upper 2" bump stops with that size tire? Anyone have any problems with the Rough Country rear track bar bracket yet? Thanks guys!!

That a tuff read to follow. Sound like you should sell what you have and buy a complete kit. I'm only saying that , cuz you are asking questions that know one can really answer without seeing what you have. With the right person and the right know how, one can make anything work. Just have to ask you self if its worth it in the long run. Spend a little more money now and save even more later.

So you're putting a 2.5 budget boost on top of a 4" lift and only running a 34" tire? Confused...

Yeah sorry fellows that does sound confusing. I am putting on the Rough Country 2.5" budget boost and using the adjustable front track bar, upper bump stops and possibly the rear track bar links from the Superlift kit. The rear links from the Super lift kit seem to be better quality since they have a ball joint on one end. The RC rear links have no ball joint and are shorter than the SL links. Since I am only lifting 2.5" will the longer rear links from the 4" Superlift be OK to use? Or just use the shorter non ball joint links from the RC lift?

My other question was when I put on the aev control arm brackets in a couple of months will I have to readjust the front track bar?

You want the swaybar to be roughly level/parallel to the frame. Use whichever set of links gives you the better angle. (longer travel setups might require a more positive angle, but shouldn't be an issue for you)

A set of control arms adjust how the housing is tilted forward/backward to adjust the caster/pinion. (longer lower arms will move the bottom of the housing forward, while leaving the top where it is. etc) The AEV brackets lower all front control arms down from the frame, lessening the angles, while also tilting the housing for caster.

An adjustable trackbar let's you center the housing left/right under the jeep. This position will not be affected by the addition of CA brackets.

I may have missed it in that wall of text, but if you have swapped in new control arms from the old lift, the brackets may add more caster than you want. In that case, you would adjust the control arms to lower the caster/raise the pinion.

4" of bumpstop will be too much for a 2.5" lift. Unless you have contact issues while flexing offroad, stick with just the uppers, or just the lowers.

sounds like you want to use it cause you have it. "adjustable front track bar, upper bump stops and possibly the rear track bar links from the Superlift kit" are not really needed for a 2.5" BB. might need a body lift or some trimming for those 34s to not rub when on the trails. i'd try and sell the old lift for more mod money or whatever

Thanks guys for your help! I got the Rough Country series II 2.5" spacer lift installed today. Took me about 6 hours with a lot of beer breaks. Just wound up using the upper bump stops from the Super lift kit. Although my front axle shifted almost a 1/4 inch to the drivers side. May use the adjustable front track bar from the Super lift kit to fix it though. But it drives great! May install the aev geometry correction brackets in a couple months. Y'all think I should worry about the front track bar or not? Thanks again!!

If your front axle is off-center, and you have an adjustable trackbar sitting there gathering dust, why would you not go ahead and use it?
