It's your Jeep man, so do what makes you happy. That said, you probably won't find too many Jeepers into "bling" like exhaust tips. Most I've heard of as far as muffler appearance goes is spray painting the stock muffler flat black to make it "go away". Some folks get mufflers to make their Jeeps loud as well. By all means, it's your ride so go for what makes ya grim.

You can spray paint it flat black? That would be a lot better. I figured I would make it look good as long as you can see it but if I can make it go away then by all means tell me the ways. Do you know the steps or have a link or is it as simple as flat black spray paint?

How's the sound of your AFE? I considered buying the axle back AFE muffler, curious about the sound.

Ok to satisfy my exhaust fix for now I decided just to black my out my muffler and exhaust tip. I used some Duplicolor Engine Enamel, Semi-Gloss Black and so far the application looks great. I only did 2 coats and didn't mask off anything. I'm satisfied for now but a blacked out tip may look good what you think?

I recently did the same thing... inexpensive and it blends better with the JK

If you offroad, you'll end up doing the exhaust tip modification. That is, you'll come down on something and bend it all up. The best solution is to move the muffler up higher and get the exhaust up out of the way where it can't be damaged. Can't be seen, either, so a "tip" is pointless. That is, if you off road.

I recommend the JeepSWAP/Dominion OffRoad solution. It isn't cheap, but it's all stainless--everything one hundred percent stainless, not "mostly" stainless with non-stainless welds and brackets that will rust out on you. It has a very nice note--not a sewing machine anymore, but not mall crawler pick-up truck loud either. You cannot, however, install it unless you relocate your evaporative cannister. And he hasn't put out one for the 3.6s--he's waiting to see if there's interest from the community (by communicating that interest to him, that is).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6rF-26db0I When you aren't on the gas, it almost sounds stock (as in, quiet compared to other aftermarket exhausts)

Hmm.... I did a "relocation."

30 some odd dollars for a glasspack and clamps and a Sawsall. Sits right next to the evap canister. No extra modifications necessary, use the factory pipe before and after, cut the end to taste. Also sounds pretty okay.... for what it is.

Oh yeah.... you saved your self hundreds of dollars over the "packaged" items... now go spend it on beer and hookers.

Profit, no?
