Default Body Lift Questions (and pic request)

Hopefully this isn't too long winded, but I have a few questions pertaining to body lifts. I already know the pros to a body lift (lower center of gravity, suspension geometry, etc) which is why I am contemplating this.

I picked up my 14' JKU about a month ago, and the plan is to build it out for overland trips, with the majority of its use still being my daily driver. The plan (as of now) is a 2.5 suspension lift, 35" tires, flat fender, and a body lift (probably the RK 1.25").

1. Any cons to a body lift other than the normal "you can see the frame" bit (function > form)?

2. Would this end up as too much lift for 35"s?

3. Anyone have before / after pics from stock to stock w/ body lift?

4. Anyone have any better suggestions for a body lift? (would like to stay 1" -1.25")

5. Any other advice / tips / pics pertaining to above would be appreciated.

Once you get your lift and tires on, you will be able to determine for yourself if a small BL would be appropriate. If you want or need a bit more do it! Good luck!

I agree with the above. I had a 2.5 coil lift and flat fenders with my 35s and it was plenty. When I got 37s I added a 1.25 tf body lift and now it has the same fender gap as before

these poser shots are not the best but may give you some idea on the before and after body lift with 37s

As noted above, with a 2.5" lift & flat flares, you won't need a body lift.

But if you do decide to get one, check out the Rough Country 1.25". They include brackets to raise the rear bumper, and extensions for the shifter for the 6spd folks.

How noticeable the gap is has a lot to do with body color. Very easy to see on lighter colors, not as noticeable on my dark green.

This is without the bumper raise brackets. (still running the stock tire carrier with 37's, so need the bumper lower for clearance)
