Default Grease is the word

Back when, Warn recommended AeroShell 17 for their winches.

Bad news is AeroShell 17 has been discontinued.

Good news is AeroShell 33MS replaces AeroShell 17.

Bad news is they are not compatible. 17 is bentonite clay based and 33MS is lithium complex based. You must remove every smidgen of the old grease before putting the new in.

I am personally using Valvoline VV985 SynPower because it's available at local auto parts stores and besides, it's what Ford uses on Expedition wheel bearings so it should work fine on my winch.
