Ok I'm about to pull the trigger on some 37" MTR's so now I need a new tire carrier and stuck on a couple options .... So please let me know your opinions. SORRY I HAD PICS LINED UP BUT STILL CAN'T POST A F'n PIC FOR SOME REASON...... If anyone is able please add one for me please and thanks of either option.

Option #1 - the Teraflex hinged carrier with adjustable tire mount.... Remove my rear stock bumper, bed line the frame black and add the Offroad Evolution frame D ring mounts.(there's a pic of this set up on the "Teraflex Tire Carrier?" thread- I know there's a few of them threads :(

Option #2 - ACE PRO SERIES BUMPER AND TIRE CARRIER but it's 190-200lbs added weight :(

If I run no bumper am I risking damage playing on rocks? Will my departure angle be better? Thx

you will be fine in the rocks....went down some very steep drop offs in Moab with no issues....I use a hitch mounted spare tire skid to protect the tire when coming off ledges..

Looks good rob. I vote yes, if I could do it over, I wouldn't have got a rear bumper and tire carrier, terrible departure angle! I am in the process of trying to get rid if mine and either get the teraflex , a heavy duty stinger tire carrier or one like the knuckles offroad that tilts out of the way.

Only thing I would say is I have heard one or two horror stories about this tire carrier bending and snapping but maybe it is rare?

also very interested in that hitch skid plate...

They apparently fixed that issue with the Teraflex carrier ...... I love the EVO tire carrier but for us up here in Canada $$$$$$$$ plus install :(
May go Teraflex with no bumper and the D rings with the hitch skid plate...... Still kinda like the ACE PRO SERIES TOO lol but soooo heavy.

genright also makes a very nice, solid carrier if you looking into something like what evo has, but for less and it doesnt require skins. Also the install is not bad if you do it yourself. I installed myne so I cant comment on prices to have it installed.

I run the carrier and the evo d-ring mounts which both were purchased from northridge for the free shipping.

Ok thanks I've considered that carrier too but heard that the way it attaches to the jeep it won't hold up in the long run with a 37 and rock climbing...... How bad does it affect your departure angle in your opinion if you play on rocks. So I'm assuming you don't have a rear bumper??? Any pics????? Thanks
We're in Canada we get raped on prices all the time .... SUCKS!!!!!!!!

Dont really understand how the mount wouldnt hold up, it replaces your hinge side and then bolts to the body. I may have an older pic without the 37s. the carrier has no rattles or anything and is solid. I dont see it hurting departure angle at all since its high up. No rear bumper for me just the evo d-ring mounts. I will try and remember to take a pic next time im out near the jeep. Also it is one of the few carriers that can hold over a 40" tire.

You've seen my posts but I have had two of your choices recently on my rig. I love my Ace set up. Good price and strong. If I wasn't on 37" I would be running the TF hinge and a slim bumper. Maybe the new LOD hinge system which will be released shortly. They claim they addressed the weaknesses in the TF design.
