Hub Centric Rings used on Level 8 Tracker wheels
All,
wanted to know if anyone has used hub centric rings on 17" Level 8 tracker wheels. I bought them from Discount Tire Direct and they came without rings. After calling and calling they sent me some. here was the issue. I found out that the wheels are lug centric and that the rings were specially made. They fit the hub and the wheel, but the center caps mount from the back side of the wheel and those rings didn't consider the center caps when they were made. The manufacturer said they aren't making any more. The center caps don't fit with the rings. Short question to a long story....has anyone bought hub centric rings to fit the 17" Level 8 trackers that allow for the center cap? I have a 2010 Wrangler Mountain Edition if that infor is needed.

You wont find any hubcentric rings that will allow for a center cap. Now there are two solutions:
1) Do not run hubcentric rings as you will be fine without them. I personally like to use them, but I am one of the few who does.
2) Cut the flared lip off the center cap, trimming off a portion equal to the width of the hubcentric ring. Go ahead and get yourself some serious plastic model glue and attach the cap directly to the hub ring. Everything will fit within the wheel just as they did before. I did this successfully with my procomp wheels, but ultimately decided I preferred the look without center caps.
