Rampage Stubby?
I am looking at replacing the stock bumper on my JK with a stubby. I like how this one looks and the fact that it includes the wench plate, grill guard and D-rings and acepts the factory fog ights for < $500.
The reviews that I read were mostly positive. One guy said he had a hard time getting it installed btu I read 10 others that said the install was easy. The other negatives that I have seen have been that the powder coat chips off easilly like they didn't prep it right. Powder coat is generally pretty hard to destroy.
Just wondering if any one else has this. Again it is pretty cheap compared to othe brands and I am well aware that you very often get what you pay for. I am about to do a suspension lift as well so the budget is a bit limited.
It's the stubby version at the bottom of this page.

I have it and love it! Install way easy and had no issues. The only small issue it that it seems the way they pack these bumpers for shipment is kinda bad. When I received mine there were a few spots that were scratched but nothing big at all, and I messaged rampage about it and they even sent me a free set of rear tail light guards as a thank you gift for my troubles! Nice to see a company that went out of their way to make sure their customers are happy. Only other thing that I will note is that the winch plate is counter sunk on the bottom so the winch bolts to lay flush, but you will have to find the right bolts because most of the time the bolts that come with your winch will not work because your winch plate will not sit flush on the bumper. I found the right grade 10.9 flat head bolts for my quadratic winch at Fastenal.
I was going to go with the same bumper. Found it on Amazon really cheap. Then the price kept going up and up the longer I looked at it. It's still a great bumper at the price it is today ($450) when I just looked. However, I was able to get an OR-FAB for pretty much the same price. The OR-FAB doesn't come with the winch plate standard, and is an option, but NorthRidge 4x4 gave me a good deal on the bumper itself. And I still get to use the factory fogs.
I wonder if the guy that said that the paint flaked off maybe accidentally got a cheap black market knock off or maybe just a bad unit? Well, anyway I ordered it. It was $403 + tax (because it ships from Texas and I live in Texas) from Truck Parts & Jeep Parts - Lift Kits, Winches, Tonneau Covers, Tires, Wheels, Bumpers, Performance. That's after a 5% discount that you have to ask for, normally $424. It is also back ordered. Should arrive at the end of the month. Apparently they can't keep these things in stock.
I put Nurf bars or bumpers or both on almost every Wrangler I owned and none of them lasted. Seems like in a little over a year you would get bubbling and rust. Altough I love the look of mostly all the aftermarket bummpers my current Wrangler is staying stock.
