Default Installing Teraflex 1.5" Performance Leveling Kit (spring kit) - need new shocks?

So like the title says, I have the Teraflex 1.5" (2" up front, 1" in the rear - springs, not pucks) Performance Leveling kit on order and I'm wondering if I need to worry about swapping the shocks out at this time. I have a 2014 JKU Sport S with all stock suspension currently. Since I'm in SW Florida, most of our trails are flat (sand and mud, mostly), so I don't think I'll be flexing too awful much.

My primary reason for the 1.5 kit is that I'm going to be installing a bumper and winch next and want to avoid the sag that comes with it (as well as level the rake).

I'm thinking that my stock shocks should be just fine for the immediate future, and I can always replace them later if necessary, but I'd like to hear some opinions on this. Thoughts?

You will be OK. the stock shocks are good to 2" of lift.

I figured that was probably the case. Thanks for the quick reply.

I can tell you that you should add spacers right from the get go. I have installed two performance coil kits one on a 13 jku and one on a 14 jku and both sagged right away.

That's disappointing to hear - were they both Teraflex kits? Is that with bumper and winch? How much sag are we talking?

Typically you can lose up to 1.5" when you install heavy bumpers.

Yeah, but that's the whole point of going with aftermarket springs, isn't it? Higher rate should equal less sag. I guess I'll just install everything and see what happens from there. I'm going to be disappointed if I have to turn around and add 1" spacers after adding a 2" coil just to carry a bumper and winch.

yes both tera flex 1.5" performance coil kits. Mine was stock bumper front and rear with 33" tire on spare tire mount. My front sagged about 1/2" is all but rear sagged down to stock height within about a month (stock being 17/58 springs). TF sent me a 1" spacer for the rear and 1/2" spacer for the front. That got it back to almost 2" in front and 1" in back compared to bone stock. On my buddies he has stock front bumper with VR10000 winch and also stock rear bumper with 33" on back. his is only a couple months old and he is close to being where he was stock and he had 18/60 springs. He has sent photos to TF to see if they will send spacers. I liked how it rode on and off road but when I got my 14 jkur I went with a 2" AEV kit and it has not sagged yet and now I have a warn vr10000 on stock bumper and the stock springs are 18/60 so time will tell how the stock springs will hold up compared to the tf springs. I think coils are better then spacers but I was disappointed that they sagged so fast.

Thanks for the information - I guess I'll see how it goes. I'll make double-sure to take before/after measurements all around in case I need to go back to Teraflex a month down the road.
