Default Upgrade from 2013 Sport S to 2014 Rubicon

I've got a pretty stock 2013 JKU Sport S that I'm really happy with. Use it for occasional off-roading, mountain trails, and icy driving.

A local dealer has a deal on a 2014 JKU Rubicon with leather seats, max tow, and touch GPS for $37k.

It seems like a pretty good deal. My monthly payments will go up about $50 a month and I will extend the loan a year more than what's on my Sport S.

I'm on the fence? What's your collective wisdom think? Thanks!

You should ask yourself if the added cost are enough to warrant the benefits. Lockers, electronic disconnects, 4:10 geara and a tow package are nice but can be added. Manual discos are easy enough to use. Chances are if you go with larger tires you will end up regearing and can add lockers at that point. I installed the tow package myself for under a $100.

For occasional offroading no. If you are wanting to get a little more hardcore (like rocks) yes.

Agree with the other comments. The Sport S has all the bells and whistles so any upgrade for offroad would be better spent a la carte and not upgrading to a rubicon.

Yea $50 on top of your current monthly payment plus an added 12 extra payments for extending your loan a year plus interest. I think you'd be putting out a lot more money in the long run that you could just put towards upgrades on your current JKU. Just my
Gotta love the smell of a Jeep tho haha.

I say this. Are you actually going to use the features of the rubi or do you just want it cause its a rubi? If you'll actually use it go for it but if just buying it cause it the baddest factory vehicle made that's a no go in my book

I say no because you haven't gone past the capabilities of your sport and an extra year of payments is a ton of money... Imagine paying your jeep off and then being able to spend 400+ on mods a month for a year vs having a stock rubi
