Default Poison Spyder Crusher Fenders or Bushwacker?

I am trying to plan out my jeep build and I'm seeing a lot of people run the Bushwacker flat fenders and some of the Poison Spyder Crusher flat fenders. I originally was leaning towards the PSC aluminum fenders but now I'm wondering if it's worth the extra money. How much weight savings is there? Is there any other advantage to running one over another, like better clearance or is it just the better price tag of the Bushwacker fenders that's attractive? Thanks for the help.

Do you need them for clearance or for armor?

Is your rig going to be really heavy before the addition of the flares?

Can you afford the aluminum and still complete the rest of your build (ie regearing, etc.)?

Default Pockets

I run the Bushwacker pocket fenders because I do a ton of mud. The one thing I found attractive about the Bushwackers is that I can easily replace them if they get damaged. I have one that is damaged right now... I just pull them off and throw a new set on there. This is my second set of pockets. They are much tougher than I thought. Also do well with branch/tree scratches. I really had to beat on the front pocket for it to need replacing.

I run the Bushwacker flats, but I want PSC or River Raider armor fenders.

I'm running the PSC aluminum flares and IMO there worth the money. They are extremely light and strong. When you install them you also install reinforcement brackets that strengthen the mounting points. I've laid my Jeep against trees and rubbed against rocks and I've never had an issue with them. Originally I lived in upstate New York and with all the road salt they use I didn't want to have to worry about rust which is why I went with the aluminum.

My rig is not going to be that heavy right off the bat, but it could by the time I get more into the build. Yes, I can afford the aluminum and still do everything else I need to. I will not have to worry about clearance right off the bat, but once I go to 37's I will.

Good info! I didn't know that about the reinforcement brackets. Thanks!

Seems to me you could have just gotten the PSC ones you wouldn't have to replace them after you knock them. I love mine, look great to.
