Default Sway Bar Discos...stumped

Hey guys, from every picture I have seen of peoples sway bar disconnects, the pin is on the bottom so that they can tie the disco up to the actual sway bar. When I got my Jeep, the pins were on the top bushing and the regular nut and bolt on bottom, leaving them hanging if I were to disconnect.

Driver side after correcting:

So, this morning I go to switch around and encounter this problem: on the passenger side, where my stabilizer shock mounts up, there's not enough room for me to pull my disco off the pin.

How is this SUPPOSE to be set up?

What brand disconnects are those? On my JKS discos I've got a pin at the top and bottom. But that pin you have looks way to long. The pins on mine are basically long enough for the disconnect to slide over and put the pin in almost flush with the side of the bushing on the disconnect like pictured here

Pro Comp, I believe. I may just ditch these and get some better ones like JKS or TeraFlex.
