Default Superchip flashpaq wrecked my jeep

Long time lurker, however I felt it necessary to create an account to share my story. I recently bought A flashpaq to help my 2010 jku turn 35s, I followed all the instructions, updated the paq, ,measured my tires true size mounted. I had been running 94 octane for the last 3 tanks so I could run the 93 tune when I received my paq.

I pulled out of my drive and the change in performance was noticeable right away. So i decided to try and see what the WOT was like when I got out onto the main road. I turned the corner and stomped the gas. The Jeep revved instantly and spiked the RPMS past 6/7k and the jeep did not shift. I immediately took my foot of the accelerator. and pulled over to see what was the problem and I heard it right away. Rod knock. Now I am in need of a new motor. Hopefully I can get the warrantied. However very doubtful

Wow that sucks. So the jeep did not shift out of first gear at all? I would definitely return it to stock before you bring it back to the dealer. I wonder if anyone else ever ran into this.

So the motor over revved causing rod knock? I didn't think the flashpaq messed with the rev limiter.

Yeah, seems a bit suspicious for a first post. Could be wrong, but sounds kind of like someone who enjoys racing around all the time and is now looking for someone else to blame.

Not really I'm a cop. And a father of 3. So I don't race around everywhere. I use this site for a lot of tech support. This year I bought the jeep to take the family on camping trips and wheeling trips. Yes you can change RPMs. How ever I did not do this

My friend had a similar instance with a cobb accessport when he tuned his Subaru. I really don't like the basic preloaded performance maps out there. But to each their own. I hope it all works out for you.

These motors definitely aren't built for those kind of rpms. Is there oil in the motor? I have never had a problem with shifting due to my tuner, sounds like something else going on.

That sucks man! I used the flashpaq with good results but I'm also running a manual trans and don't have to wait for a computer to make the shift so I don't know.
