I don't think it is stainless. If you use a ss relo bracket you won't need this, that does the same thing. I bought this and didn't end up using mine for that reason

Stainless isnt as strong thats why. Paint it with bedliner or a black etching primer. Good to go.

The steel plate is zinc coated to prevent surface rust. That coating is what makes it look like stainless in pictures.

in the description it says the plate is dense stainless steel ! if mine is steel and zinc coated why is there a difference from the one shown ?
not getting it ? heres the description

(Product Features: Constructed of dense stainless steel, this "stiffening plate" will certainly beef up your trackbar axle mount.

Model Number: Teraflex 4951800

* note stainless steel cant rust so if mines zinc coated steel thats not dense stainless as indicated in description why?

not a huge deal but i thought i was buying stainless steel plate ( not zinc coated steel ) i wont roll over and die over it

* its also not drilled for 9/16 so now the gusset needs to be drilled out . what size drill bit is used for the 9/16 shoulder bolt ? to go along w. your Monster track bar i just purchased with this stiffening gussett . i want the bolt to go through snug not slop as the factory set up

Default it wouldnt be 9/16 i think due to the shoulder

shank i figure teraflex should know

i think my plate got missed by the zinc painter or by the stainless steel detector 000 lol its ok i sprayed it with etching primer but that aint dense stainless steel just plain ol steel the one i got ( by the time it rots ill be dead anyway but thats disapointing to think your buying one thing and it shows up not as described ! ill use it anyway.

Here's the description on our website: | TeraFlex Suspensions
" Driving at high speeds can quickly loosen and bend critical suspension points. This trackbar bracket gusset will beef up and prevent the trackbar axle bracket from bending, deforming or loosening during high speed driving."
Sorry, but it seems that someone has the wrong description posted on their website that you saw.

Now that larger hole in the bracket is supposed to be drilled 9/16" already.

( dense stainless steel !) also mine is not coated with any coat as in any of the pictures shown if you google it . nor was the hole drilled to accept a 9/16 bolt because i ordered the grade 8 bolt kit also and each 9/16 bolt will not make it past a thread never mind a shoulderd shank part i ordered your teraflex hd monster trackbar and the 9/16 fits perfectly through the bushings but not the steel gussett i think mine was grabbed out of the unfinished section to be honest . i etchprimed it . and the other two holes are very small im not sure what size those are designed for but they are 1/4 x20 not looking like the size bolts used in that photo those prob were not drilled either to spec
. nor is it coated , as in the pics
just send a SKU: 980986 thats all & it was sent direct from teraflex not the vender heres how it was shown in photos and looked proper for the job at hand as shown

, one of these is not like the other ! lol mine being the last photo * you might want to let these guys know they are advertising your product and giving the wrong description as dence stainless steel and the teraflex part number . as i orderd ) if not its like endorsing This is why i mentioned it because i wasnt aware i had to figure drill bit sizes and this stuff either and painting steel, for that matter could have prefabbed a piece of metal laying around (The hd trackbar i bought of yours is stout though !
btw the bag it came in says ( kit ) see 4th pic ~ kit definition : is more than one item in package , nothing was included as far as the bolts to mount it even... thats my own grade 8 bolt in that photo . from a bolt kit i bought to work along with your trackbar
