Default Help? Rubi rail past pinch seam.

Have rubi rail and ace rock slider with a 35" nitto. Rubi rail too close to tire. Any pics of cuts done to relieve this problem?

Yep. Just trimmed my rubi rail to match with the pinch seam and follow the line of my fenders. I recall it being a bit of a pain because of the plastic end-cap, but definitely doable.

A sawzall will make quick work of it. I removed the end cap, cut 2" off the rail, and popped the end cap back on.

Yep, this is exactly what I did. Pop the cap off first, sawzall, little touch up paint and then I used a little Black Silicone RTV to seal the end-cap back on.

For anybody who did this, did anyone leave the rail on the rig when cutting it? Or did u have to remove it? I have the ace sliders on as well. Was thinking I could just take tire off and do the work. Thanks for any input. Can refer to my original pic to see what work area I have to deal with.

The rails are so easily removed, I see no reason to leave them on. Like 5 minutes per side.

Of course I don't have ace sliders... but even so, why risk damage to the tub?

I plan on cutting these tmw, touching up the cut and reattaching the cap. Also plan on installing new rear bumper. Looks like I will make a day of it(beer)...I am on vacation. Post pics when finished. Probably best to remove rail, better safe then sorry.

Cut mine today. Bought a great sawzall blade from Home Depot(Diablo) metal cutting blade. Made job easy.
