Default Aftermarket shift knobs.

As anyone who has decided to put a threaded shiftknob into their manual transmission JK it is a nightmare. When I decided I wanted to put a big Hurst T-Grip into my jeep I searched high and low and was horrified to find all sorts of posts telling me to thread all kinda of crazy stuff onto my stick.

In the interest of saving anyone else who wants to throw any universal knobs onto their jk, there is a company called "Speed Dawg" who make an adaptor that is threaded and fits over you stick. It's not a 100% made for your jeep solution but it's damn close and it's non-permanent. I had to do some mild grinding to get the grip I purchased to thread down far enough to look good but it was well worth it. Pictures to follow when I can get them transferred to my posting device.

yeah, no shit. With the right tools, it's still easy. My buddy has a manual. We did his. Just can't be afraid to cut and tap.

I had a 2010 JKU manual and used a shifter knob from my local P-boys. Best bet is to get one that has set screws to tighten down on the shifter..

screws werent enough for me. i had to request an adapter with approximate sizes and then ditched the tiny allen screws becuase it would still get a bit out of place with use. ended up going with marine grade epoxy and that did the trick

My main issue was that I didn't want anything permanent. I wanted to be able to return to stock down the road is I so choose. The idea of hacking apart my stick or gumming it up with epoxies and whatnot repulsed me.

this is the speed dawg adapter. You can use any knob that has a master thread.

Yeah, Speed Dawg here too. I JB welded mine on and make my knobs out of billiard balls.
Hey rock, our jeeps look almost like twins. I have an LOD ArmorLite Midwidth in front.

Default Speed Dawg on shortened and threaded lever

I shortened, threaded and bent the lever 1 inch forward. Then I installed a Speed Dawg 9/16 threaded knob.
