Default Aev vs ripp supercharger

I'm thinking of purchasing a supercharger and I was curious what peoples opinions were of either the AEV or the ripp superchargers ?

I've installed RIPPs in 2 of our 3 JKs. We are very happy with them.

Default ripp

i am ripp charged and happy. kinda wish they would of updated my system when their's evolved. first system had one injector dumping fuel into the intake second has individual injectors for each cylinder and they programed me with diablo trinity. all said and done i am a little over 7 in the hole for my happiness. but when you go from a maxima to a jk . it helped ease my transition. other than the extra cost the guys over there are great and will help you with any questions. they did discount the amendment to my system. happy to be ripped and would highly recomend.

AEV is magnuson and I think they are pretty comparable. there is a thread on the other main forum comparing the two ie ripp and magnuson.

My sprintex is noticeable with 75% of my driving. Likely why my mpg went down too. Ripp does not have as much power down low but it still has some power gain over stock. My jeep was dyno'd yesterday and hit 221rwtq at 2700 rpm with heavy 35's on a mustang dyno. Only 166rwhp but we stopped at 4500rpm. I honestly didnt bothrr tuning past that because the kit already gives me such good power at low rpm. The torque curve held steady as well. Very noticeable power gain everytime i accelerate and highway boost kicks in very quickly and easily. No dropping into 3rd in my 4 spd auto to pass anyone.

You should be fine. If you have an auto, at least do a cooler. It makes a drastic improvement.

I'm installing the Aev sc now. Chose it based on the technical data and reports of a more even power dist even at low rpms. We'll see once it's is installed. I already upgraded to 5.13 gears and run 35's Gibson headers and cat back exhaust.

Not even close to true. You start to notice it around 2k rpm, with good results over 2500 rpm, and big results over 3k rpm.

With any supercharged 3.8, you still need to regear if you are running larger than stock tires. You want to be at 2500 rpm on the highway if you have a 3.8L anyway.
