Default Question about the Rough Country 2.5" Coil Lift

Looking to run 33x12.5x17 tires on my 2011 JKU and was thinking of installing the TF level kit which gets me 2" lift in front and 1" lift in the rear.

I started looking around and found the 2.5" Rough Country Coil lift and it says that it will "level out" the Jeep. I'm thinking that the coils would be better than the spacers and I also get the extra .5" lift. I am curious to know what people who have this lift think of it.

- Does it level the JK?
- Is it a true 2.5" Will that height change with hardtop/softtop?
- Any regrets (other than going bigger than 2.5") with this lift?

Any pics or thoughts welcome!

Don't let low price be the primary reason to choose a specific lift. Value, as in quality of parts, engineering, bushings, rate higher than cheap price. If it's a street build, low quality gets by: if it's going to see trails then go for better parts.

I have the 3.25 inch rough country lift kit. I bought the 4 door lift kit for my 2 door which netted me almost 4 inches with the softop and no gear. It's a reasonable kit a little on the bumpy side but doesn't really bother me. I've only had it on for 3,000 miles and so far it's held up to the stuff I've thrown at it ( I really abuse it) if the coils/shocks ever go they do have lifetime warrantee on it. Ps. They do really honor it!

Now don't let the cheap price fool you it's not a complete kit. You need to get rear track bar bracket, bump stops, brake line extensions, sway bar quick disconnects, and also another big thing which really helped with my ride was the aev geometry brackets to fix the control arms

Your gonna add all the other components but it still comes out to cheaper than the teraflex 2.5 system

Thanks for the info! I'm not looking to setup anything that's going to cost me a lot at the moment as I am buying 5 wheels and tires (33x12.5x17) right now too. I guess looking at the TF leveling kit I thought for the extra $100 to get the RC coil lift it would be a better investment. I don't do any crazy off roading. Any suggestions on what you would do in the $150-$350 range? I am also looking at the AEV 2.0" Spacer Suspension System that is a spacer lift that includes 2" Front Coil Spacers, 1.75" Rear Coil spacers, front and rear bump-stop, extended sway-bar end-links, corrosion-resistant E-coated front and rear shock extension brackets, spacers and front brake line drop brackets.
This claims to level the Jeep too but lifts the rear more than the TF. How can they both claim that with different sized spacers?

I have the 2.5" coil lift kit with the 2.2 shocks. If you don't plan on offroading much, keep it simple and just go spacers to fit the 33s. The 2.2 shocks are horrible. The 2.0s are better, but if in had to do it again, I wouldn't go with the rough country coils either. Save your money and headaches and do the AEV spacer kit. Or you can try to find some longer stock coils from a 10th anniversary which will probably give you a bit of lift and use the stock Rubicon shocks. The spacers will keep the same ride if you don't want to go firmer/bumpier.

Good to know. Thanks for the honesty on your setup. I'm also looking at the Rubicon Express 2" Leveling Spacer System. I think I'm between that and the AEV. The keep it simple part makes sense!
