There's spray paints for plastics. No primers needed. I'd go with one of them.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 3 while crawling over mini trucks.

I bedlined my cut stock fenders. It's black and they clean nice. I got tired of the stock finish fading and looking like shit.

Thumbs up Painting Plastic Fenders

One of the biggest challenges is getting the surface clean. Remember most of the polishes or protectants you used to keep them looking black had silicone in them. This can ruin a paint job in seconds. One speck will separate the paint from underneath and make a "fish eye". Also, they are somewhat flexible so if you use car paint, base/clear you would need flexitive added to the clear, this doesn't work good with the texture and flexibility of the original type fenders. I like the previous post about trying to find color ones, those would be easier and take a paint better. I also like the post about bedlining them. If I do mine which are stock, I would first try a good cleaning with wax and grease remover, then spray on plastic adhesion promoter, then use a ready made product like SEM brand trim paint. It is much finer than most and after 2-3 light coats will give you excellent results. I may end up doing mine too, because I do not like when they turn gray and look like crap. By following these directions you should be able to keep them nice looking with out ruining them for good and you would not need to sand them just clean them good with a scotch bright pad and cleaner.

Thanks yumpin that really helps I really didn't think about getting some that are painted a different color but that makes sense that paint would stick better plus I got a buddy who has his own paint booth and does excellent work. Thanks man

Transtar use to make a primer that you could apply over plastics that was years ago when I was in that industry. Go to an automotive paint supply store they should everything you need. Yumpin is right....remember prep is very important. Or, just like previously posted look for painted ones. Put something in the WTB section.
