Default Traction control coming on at odd times

My traction control on my 2007 Wrangler JK comes on at times. I noticed it the other night when I was in a hard right hand turn. My JK is lifted 3" and has 35" tires. Would this be the reason for this?

Maybe your steering wheel is a little off center. Usually caused by the lift.

Off center steering wheel, or, you are actually getting the rear wheel off the ground in that hard turn.

The steering wheel seems pretty straight. Could that really cause it to engage traction control?

if it is off center a good bit(not certain how much), yes. It happened to mine when I did my lift and was driving to get the alignment.

The steering wheel may appear straight to you but it is what the computer thinks that matters.

The JK's control systems use wheel sensors, accelerometers and steering wheel position to determine if the vehicle is in an out of control or slide condition. If the computer thinks the vehicle is out of control it will apply the brakes to the appropriate wheel(s) and possibly reduce engine power.

A ProCal is a great tool for getting the steering wheel back to center and ensure the computer is happy.

It's not sterling wheel as it will trip even going straight. If it's happening when you turn it's because a tire is not getting full grip because of the higher center of gravity you created on the jeep. I'm assuming you have the 2 door?

Not quite true.

Lots of people have had it happen after a lift, when making a turn, especially on a highway exit.
Straightening the steering wheel electronically has fixed it for them.

"Hard right turn".... your driving habits are triggering it. Don't be ripping around turns for a few days and it shouldn't go off. I know when I corner really hard, the system will kick in thinking I am losing control.

My JK is a four door. I wouldn't say I was whipping around the turns fast. It is more of a long sweeping turn.
