I got the 4-6" lift fox shox for my 3.5" X-factor long arm lift and it looks like because the lower shock mount was relocated up 2", I'm down to 4.5" of shaft left on the rear shocks before its full compressed when the jeep is on level surface. my 3" bumps are approx 6" apart. Should I move the shock mount back down or go with a shorter shock? i checked with 3 retailers who all suggested the 4-6" shock but I wonder if that was for the mid arm, not the long arm which has the shock relocation brackets.
So you are saying that at ride height you have 4.5" of shaft showing. Are your bump stops set up to prevent tire rub? If so you will need either 2.5" more bump stop, lower the bottom mount, raise the top mount, or get shorter travel shocks.

yes, bumps were ordered as recommended. first point of contact is the tire with the pinch seam behind the rear tire. its significant so I will be cutting the metal and plastic for clearance. next point of contact will be the shock fully compressing before the bump stops touch. I don't want to lose the generous amount of travel that the larger shocks give so I'd prefer moving the upper shock mount higher. is there a bracket for that?
I think synergy makes one if you are running the shocks in the stock location. Not sure if you are going to get 2.5" out of it though. Those rear shock in the stock location are mounted at an angle so you will get more actual travel then is what showing on the shaft.

good point on the angle of the shock. I will know more once I cut the rear opening larger so I can see exactly how much space is between the bumpstops when the shock is fully compressed. There is a half inch thick rubber grommet around the shaft limiting compression but I don't want to cut that off unless I'm absolutely sure that the bumpstops are going to limit travel before the shock compresses all the way

Synergy Manufacturing Rear Long Travel Upper Shock Mounts with Sway Bar Brackets for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec
is anyone using these with the RK long arm lift? my lower shock mount moved up 2" and it looks like this will move the upper mount up 2" and save me from having to go with a shorter shock.
