Default Rancho 9000xl adjustables wont work with my lift?

Thinking about getting the rancho adjustables for my 2door. Called Quadratec and they told me that the rancho 9000 shock wont work for my lift.

They said they make one for 0-2 inch of lift, and 4+ of lift. Since I have rk 2.5 inch coils ( 3 inch lift) the rep said they wont work.

I don't know too much about shocks, but shouldn't I be able to use the longer ones ( 4+ of lift) for my set up anyway? I read posts about longer shocks being used all the time.

What they should have said is that you might need to do a little extra to accomodate them. If you went with the shorter stroke length (what they are referring to as the 0-2" shock) you'll be compromising on down-travel and you'd be wise to add limit straps to the lift so that your shock isn't what stops your down-travel. Similarly, if you went with the longer travel shock you might have to get longer bumpstops so that the shock doesn't bottom out during uptravel and damage it that way.

I've got the 9000xl's and they've been great.

Rancho sells them with their 2" sport lift. Just call Rancho to get the right part number and you will be good to go.

Not true. You can use them. It's up to 4 inches not over 4 inches if I recall. They are great for the money, I recommend them.

I believe this is what you're looking for. Ignore the 0-2" or 4" lift bs. I'm assuming you're running 3" or more of bump stop to fit 40's on 3" of lift.

RS999331 (front)
16.6 compressed 27.32 extended 10.7 travel
RS999332 (rear)
16.18 compressed 27.25 extended 10.43 travel

This.

I run 9000XLs with a RK 2.5" Max Travel. These measurements are within what RK suggests on their website. See http://www.rockkrawler.com/ProductDe...tCode=RKJK25MT. The shock tab gives you specific shock measurements and the bumpstop size you should run.
