Default Soft Tops rear Side window options on Unlimited

I was sitting here thinking last few days about the extra set of windows I have for my Unlimited. THey are clear windows and immaculate. I do not use them. I was thinking is there a way that I could maybe have the clear window cutout and in its place installed basically the same material as the soft top itself? I mean the rear side windows on the Jeep Unlimited's are pretty much a waste anyways. about the only thing they are good for is people peeping in your rear of your jeep from the side or you scratching the windows and having to replace eventually. I thought about it after looking at how the Ursa Minor Hardtop looks without the rear side windows. Has anyone thought of this done this know where to start looking? My google searches are coming up empty and so are my searches here. I am thinking maybe I am saying it wrong in the search. If someone can direct me to the area or give me their opinion on the matter that would be awesome.

If you think it's something you want to try I don't think it'd be that difficult. I would skip cutting the plastic out and just sew or stick soft material around or onto the window. Why chance a leak by removing the plastic?

What he said^^^!!! I wanna see the finished product. You could easily cover inside too just for perfections sake. Marine grade vinyl on the inside, cut up someone's older soft top for the outer. Just tossing out ideas. Take it to a seamstress or upholstery joint

Love the look. I used to have a black top on an old fj like this. It would be cool to be able to zip out the sides!!

Well I went to the marine vinyl place in town today and dropped them off so the seamstress could see the windows on Monday. With any luck I may have this going. Will update once I know more.

Plastidip!....

I dont use my rear view mirror so I plastidipped my rear window 2 years ago.
It looks a bit off from the inside but, looks great from outside!.

I roll the rear window up every now and then and I stuff a bunch of stuff back there, only had to touch it up a couple of times, simple as spot spraying.

Give that a shot!.

If you dont like it, just peel it off.

Good luck.

Marine vinyl is a great idea I bet you could have a whole top done in a pretty unique color at a place like that

That is the Ursa Minor J30 top. You can look at them on their website at ursa minor. It is a complete hard top that replaces your existing one. I think they are bad ass but I would not get much use out of one at this time unfortunately.
